La Bergerie - Villa Upgrade, Mougins France

This retrofit project provided many challenges for our design and engineering teams to overcome. The client had specific expectations of how the new system should function and an extensive list of sources that they required to be available throughout the property including a self playing grand piano. There was a specific brief that we should remove the old congested overheating equipment racks from within the house and move the new equipment to a purpose built air conditioned, hermetically sealed rack area which was to be built outside in an unused area. We were fully involved with the specification and building of this area which now houses 4 purpose built equipment racks all powered and backed up with an online battery UPS system to ensure equipment performance is not degraded by the poor power supply in the area. At the heart of the new system is a 32x32 Crestron Digital Media system which distributes the 20 HD video sources to the many connected rooms of the Villa both inside and outside. For this project AV Riviera were awarded the Best Digital Media System by Crestron the world leader in automation systems.

Since the completion of this project we have maintained the system and upgraded various areas as new technology has evolved. Our quarterly maintenance visits have enabled us to keep all equipment firmware up to date and ensured the system has remained reliable for the client by fixing any problems before they become an issue. We have upgraded the system to iPad control when it became available and now the client is looking towards a 4K video upgrade which will be straightforward thanks to the compatibility of the current equipment and installed infrastructure. 

Apartment Upgrade, Kensington London

This system was designed for a client with very high expectations and a vast experience of Crestron systems in many of his other properties. The system was designed to use the very latest digital media technology throughout but in a very discreet way to be in keeping with the aesthetics of the apartment.

The Academy Gardens project was an entire system upgrade from a 2003 AMX analogue system to a Crestron Digital Media system. This included replacing all AMX parts with Crestron, replacing all televisions, sources, touch panels, iPod docks, receivers and VCR players with up-to-date equipment.

There are 25 sources and 14 room outputs including a media wall in the office and dual monitors in the Gym. We integrated CCTV control, blind and curtain control, Lutron lighting, HVAC system, door entry and telephone into one simple system.

Every area of the apartment has it’s own dedicated TPMC-8X touch panel with one iPad control shared by the whole property and X Panel PC control which can control the property remotely from anywhere in the world.

The client had a strict deadline of 8 weeks from design to completion of the project, this was quite a challenge for such a large project but with careful planning and installation we were able to meet the deadline.
 

Ski Chalets - Courchevel 1850 France

This project took us to the prestigious ski resort of Courchevel 1850. Our client was renovating four apartments in the same block, one for their own personal use and three to be used by friends, family and also as a rental business. The apartments were completed in stages over several years in between the busy winter seasons. The main apartment features a full HD video and audio distribution system along with Crestron lighting control and CCTV integration. The rental apartments all have small Crestron control systems with iPads for control of the TVs and sources. It was important that the apartment systems were intuitive to use and reliable as people of different nationalities with different expectations would be paying a premium to stay in these properties. Each of the apartments have access to Blu-ray players, Apple TV, Sky TV and Russian Kartina TV.
